Continuing along on the same food-related problems, here is a menu from Lokys (which means bear). This place is right down the small, cobblestone street from our apartment.

I think I will not violate the Oregonian code of ethics by eating beaver.

 I've been very worried about accidentally eating horsemeat throughout this trip. According to our guidebook, horsemeat is popular in Lithuania. I haven't actually seen any on the menu--which might be because of new policies on the medications that horses intended for human consumption are allowed to injest. However, when anything is just listed as "meat," like meat filling, meat sauce, meat stew, I steer clear.

Apparently, the courtyard to our apartment building has some sort of historical significance.
Here, a group of Russian tourists examine a statue. With my sad Russian language skills, all I could gather was that the statue is of an author of some sort. Which could also be because the statue is of a person holding a book:
